CAMERON HIGHLANDS


Is a thrilling destination for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. The district is located in Pahang, Malaysia, and covers an area of 712.18 square kilometers. It is a popular tourist destination known for its cool highland plateau with an elevation of 4,750 feet. The area was developed by the British in the 1940s as a hill station and named after William Cameron, a British explorer and geologist.

Cameron Highlands offers a plethora of exciting outdoor activities that are sure to get your adrenaline pumping. You can explore the lush green forests on foot or by ATV, hike up Gunung Berembun for scenic mountain views, or go camping at Taman Eko Kem Sungai Pauh. For those who prefer a more laid-back experience, there are plenty of flower gardens, tea plantations, and strawberry farms to visit.

If you’re looking for an adventure tour, Cameron Highlands has plenty to offer. Pet fluffy sheep at The Sheep Sanctuary, or go hiking at Cameron Highlands. For those who like to be close to nature, the forest in Cameron Highlands offers a great option for adventure seekers. There are several trails that are offered in Cameron Highlands which are catered for trekkers of all levels. The trail starting from the army quarters around the northern peak of Mount Brinchang is one of the most challenging ones here as they are rarely used. To trek this trail you should register your details at the police station as there have been cases where trekkers lost their way during their adventure.

TEA PLANTATIONS

The tea plantations are a must-visit for anyone who loves tea or nature. The most popular tea plantation is the Sungai Palas Tea Estate. It is located around the northern region of Brinchang town. The estate is known for its picturesque views of the rolling hills and vibrant landscape. You can take a walk through the plantation, observe the tea plants, and enjoy a warm cup of local spicy tea and some cheesecake in the tea house, which overlooks the entire plantation. You can also purchase one of the various tea blends to brew at home or buy a souvenir at the gift shop.

If you want to explore other tea plantations in Cameron Highlands, you can visit Cameron Valley Plantations. It has a beautiful waterfall and offers a scenic walk through the plantation.

If you’re looking for an adventure, you can visit Kuala Terla Tea Plantation. Here, you can ride an ATV through the plantation and enjoy a rewarding view all the way to the top of the hill. Alternatively, you can take a leisurely walk through the plantation.

GUNUNG BRINCHANG

at 2,032 meters, it is the highest Mountain in Cameron Highlands.

The trail that leads to the summit is know as  Cameron Highlands Jungle trail 1. The hike offers a chance to immerse yourself in the greenery and observe numerous floral species such as pitcher plants, orchids, and shrubs.

At the top of the summit it is where you get a magnificent view of the Cameron Highlands landscape, draped in lush rainforest. On a clear day, you can see all the way out to Kampar town below and the vast Titiwangsa mountain range. The observation tower at the summit enables tourists to enjoy this panoramic view.

If you come in the early morning, you’ll be greeted by a cacophony of bird songs. Countless varieties of birds in an array of mesmerising colours dart in and out at the peak. It’s truly a haven for bird watchers and nature enthusiasts.

LOCAL EXPLORATION

If you have some time to rest, why not visiting local farms and market. The Butterfly Farm is one of the oldest attractions in the area. It houses live butterflies of different varieties. Visitors can walk into the butterfly enclosure and watch them flit among the flowers.

The Time Tunnel Museum is Malaysia’s first memorabilia museum. It is filled with more than 4,000 objects and photographs on display here. They are showcased in eight galleries covering an area of approximately 14,000 square feet. The museum is known for its assortment of old photographs and collectibles that serve as a reminder of what life was like in Malaysia during the pre-War years.

The Big Red Strawberry Farm  is a great place to visit if you want to pick your own strawberries or enjoy some strawberry-themed treats. The strawberries are grown hydroponically and are available all year round.
