Adding to the thrill is the Genting Skyway, one of Southeast Asia’s fastest and longest gondola lifts. Along the journey, you can marvel at a historic 130 million-year-old rainforest below while riding over the hilly landscape of Genting Highlands.

BUKIT TABUR

The Bukit Tabur is a popular destination for adventurers seeking a challenging and rewarding outdoor experience. The trail is divided into two sections:

The Bukit Tabur West offers a straightforward but challenging hike, requiring both hands and legs to climb up and down the rock surface. The total round distance of the West trail is between 7-8 KM, with an incline of 446 meters. It typically takes around 2-3 hours to complete.

On the other hand, the Bukit Tabur East trail is said to be more challenging. Both trails offer very similar views as they are located right next to each other. They provide breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, including the Kuala Lumpur skyline.

Please note that as of now, both trails are officially closed and are no longer maintained. Hiking these trails is at your own risk. It’s also important to note that it’s illegal to hike the Bukit Tabur hiking trails without a permit from the Government.

BROGA HILL

Also known as Bukit Lalang, is a 400-meter hill that provides a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. The hike to the top of the hill is relatively easy, taking about an hour and is suitable for both beginners and experienced hikers.

The hill is unique as it is devoid of trees, unlike the usual tropical rainforests. This unique appearance could be due to a forest fire many years ago. However, the lush green grass, the oil palm plantations, the distant mountains and the villages and towns peaking, is of such scenic beauty that one cannot get over it.

There are three peaks in total at Broga Hills. From the summit, there is a jungle trail that leads to Gunung Tok Wan, which will take you another one-and-a-half-hour hike to get there. The view from the top offers one of the best sights around.

The Sak Dato Temple, is a hidden gem that is not to be missed. This beautiful temple is nestled in the heart of a peaceful forest and is surrounded by lush greenery, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere.

SELANGOR RIVER

The Selangor River, a major waterway in Malaysia, is an adventurer’s dream. As you journey along this river, you’ll encounter a series of breathtaking waterfalls. The Chiling Waterfall, is a collection of three vertical waterfalls that offer a refreshing retreat. Lata Medang and Sungai Pisang Waterfall are other notable cascades that add to the river’s charm.

For thrill-seekers, the Selangor River offers exciting white water rafting opportunities. Imagine navigating through 7-kilometres of tight turns and narrow channels, with the scenic river at the foothills of Fraser’s Hill as your backdrop. It’s an adrenaline-pumping experience that’s sure to leave you exhilarated!
