BUSAN

HAEDONG YONGGUNGSA TEMPLE

Is a unique Buddhist temple perched on the cliffs overlooking the East Sea. Unlike most other temples in the country, it is situated along the coastline, providing a stunning backdrop of the sea.

The temple, believed to have been built in the 14th century, is dedicated to Haesu Gwaneum Daebul, the goddess of compassion. Its striking architecture and vibrant colors harmonize with the natural surroundings, creating a serene and picturesque atmosphere.

You can explore the temple complex and enjoy the beautiful views of the sea. One of the highlights is the Dragon Staircase, adorned with lanterns, leading down to the water. Haedong Yonggungsa is also known for its sunrise views, The temple opens daily from 5am to 8pm.

HOCHEON VILLAGE

The village’s houses are adorned in a kaleidoscope of colors, ranging from pastel pinks and blues to bold yellows and greens. Each house is uniquely painted, creating a whimsical and eye-catching sight that delights both locals and tourists alike. These colorful facades provide a striking contrast against the backdrop of the surrounding mountains, making Hocheon Village a visual feast for the senses.

Wandering through the streets, you can immerse yourself in the vibrant colors and soak up the unique ambiance. The village’s charm extends beyond its colorful houses, as it also boasts cozy cafes, art galleries, and small boutique shops, adding to its allure as a hub of creativity and artistic expression.

The village gained popularity as one of the filming locations for the K-drama “Fight for My Way“. In the past, it was said that tigers frequently roamed the rough and irregular sides of the village’s mountains.

CAPSULE TRAIN

The Busan Capsule train (Hundae Blueline Park) is a modern and innovative transportation system in Busan, South Korea. It operates from 9:00  to 19:00 and offers a reliable and efficient mode of transportation for both locals and tourists.

The Capsule train starts at Mipo station or Cheongsapo station.

You can enjoy panoramic windows that provide a stunning view of the sunset during their journey, creating a serene and unforgettable experience.

Alternatively, you can take the beach train.

Start Time: It usually begins operating at 9:30 AM every day.

Last Departure (Mipo Station):

  • November to February: 19:00
  • March, April, and October: 19:30
  • May, June, and September: 20:30
  • July and August: 21:30

Stops include Mipo StationDalmaji TunnelCheongsapo StationDaritdol ObservatoryGudeokpo, and Songjeong.

Price: A one-time use costs â‚©7,000, and a pass for two rides costs â‚©12,000.

The Sky Capsule takes around 25 minutes to travel from Mipo to Cheongsapo.

JANGSAN MOUNTAIN

Is a magnificent natural attraction located in Haeundae District. With an elevation of 634 meters, it is the second-largest mountain in the region and offers breathtaking views of downtown Busan, the nearby ocean, and the iconic Gwangan Bridge.

Hiking at Jangsan Mountain is a popular activity among locals and tourists alike. The mountain boasts a network of well-maintained forest trails and hiking paths, allowing you to choose between leisurely strolls through the serene forest or more challenging hikes up the mountain. The Entrance of the hike is located at Daecheon Park.

The closest station is Jangsan station (Line 2) and take exit 12.

Get in the bus at Haeundae Hot Springs intersection and get off at Daelim 1st apartment (대림1차아파트).

AMNAM PARK

The Songdo Sky Park is home to the cable car station for the Busan Air Cruise, which takes visitors across the ocean to Songdo Bay Station near Songdo Beach. The park also features various attractions, cafes, restaurants, and a convenience store. The Sky Harbor Observatory on the rooftop provides a breathtaking view of the Songdo Peninsula, with time capsule placements and numerous photo zones.

The Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge connects Amnam Park to Dongseom Island. This 127.1-meter-long and 2-meter-wide bridge offers a stunning view of the coastal scenery, including the ocean, cliffs, and Songdo Beach.
